08/06/2010 - Cleveland, OH (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Cleveland Indians catcher Carlos Santana underwent successful left knee surgery on Friday at Cleveland Clinic.

Santana's procedure stabilized the lateral side of his knee with a repair of his lateral collateral ligament. He will need four to six months to make a full recovery and is expected to be full strength for the 2011 season.

He was injured during a play at home on Monday at Boston.

The 24-year-old played very well in 46 games this season, batting .260 with a .401 on-base percentage to go with six homers and 22 RBI. He also recorded 13 doubles and stole three bases.
